All About Shea Kenealy

Hi! I am Shea Kenealy.  I am entering my 13th year of teaching middle school science.  I have taught all middle grade levels in science and 8th grade math in Maryland and South Carolina.  I have been part of four middle school communities during my career.   I have supported our students middle school experience by planning and assisting with outdoor education.

I am entering my 4th year in leadership as a grade level team leader.  This position has given me experience with analyzing student data, both academically and behaviorally.  I have worked with students who are struggling academically to develop action plans to improve their academic success.  I monitor those action plans and frequently meet with those students to see how I can best support them.  It also has given me an opportunity to assist administration with handling discipline issues and establishing positive relationships with families and the school community.

I enjoy facilitating after school clubs and teams.  I have coached girls' softball, soccer, and cross country.  I am now supporting our school athletics as the athletic coordinator. I have also been a choreographer for the musical production of You're a Good Man Charlie Brown.

I am a building representative for the MCEA union.  This has provided insight on different concerns from staff through various lenses.  I have learned more about the importance of having a supportive union and different processes for concerns that arise during the school year.
